May 1-2, 2016 | Gatlinburg, Tennessee Trip

Smokey Mountains National Park

Quite a few months back, my wife told me she and her siblings wanted to get away for a weekend with their mom, since the last time we all got away, it was such a great time in French Lick, Indiana.
This time, we were to head south to Gatlinburg, Tennessee. Not something I was thrilled about since the only thing that comes to mind when I think about Gatlinburg is traffic, traffic, and more traffic. And, there was mention of a casino trip… the last place I want to spend my time!
My plans didn’t include a casino, but more so, hiking boots and a camera!

While most of the weekend was spent hanging out and partying, playing cards, and devouring endless amounts of food, a few of us did manage to get out and ride through the beautiful Smokey Mountains! I captured photos from a variety of locations along the way, including Cades Cove, Chimneys, Tremont, Newfound Gap, and Deep Creek National Park in Bryson City, North Carolina.

What a great weekend we had! Betsy’s family is awesome… and “grandma”, what a great lady! I’m not sure I’ve ever met a sweeter person in my life!
Although “someone” was missing that weekend. But we couldn’t have a Holthaus gathering without them, so I’ve added them to our group shot. To test my Photoshop skills, see if you can tell who I added!
P.S. I really didn’t try that hard, so it’s pretty obvious.
