The year was 1939, and a young man named Bill Monroe had joined the Grand Ole Opry, his style of music was new and refreshing to the Opry audiences. They received it vibrently. If only I were there to capture the moment! It's obvious to anyone that knows bluegrass that an event such as Bill Monroe's first appearance on the Grand Ole Opry will probably never happen again. But there are many great bluegrass moments shared by thousands of fans across the country every day. The photo links below are here to help preserve those moments for years to come. I am hopeful that these photos will help to bring new fans to bluegrass music. Please feel free to share this page with friends and fans. |
